Yampa River tubing
- Private tubing is recommended from Fetcher Park (off Pine Grove Road) to the Stockbridge Transit Center; commercial tubing is permitted from Fifth Street to James Brown Bridge/Shield Drive when flows drop below 700 cfs (City).
- No disposable containers (cans, plastic bottles, glass, bags, Styrofoam coolers); use a reusable bottle attached to your tube (City).
- City also lists no alcohol, no glass, no bathing/diapers (City Yampa River page).
- Wear a life vest and river shoes; no flip-flops; “rig to flip” (City).
- The river can close in low flows: in 2026 it closed July 1 and reopened Oct. 30 (Steamboat Pilot). Check the city page before going.
